This weeks dream competition vote by commenting dream 1 or dream 2...

Channing Tatum, my kidnapper in dream one/mixed with Jax

After I came out of the Cabana

JAX......

Clay, he was in charge of my second kidnapping

Tig...Sergeant in Arms in charge of me in...

I have some crazy dreams.  I used to have night terrors nightly, part of my insomnia I imagine, since as long as I remember.  I can guess they started around the age of 8 (another story).

These are the two dreams I had this week that left me confused and amused.  I don't know if any of you analyze dreams or have a dream book, but both of them involved  being kidnapped by really bad boys who were REALLY nice to me.  So if you read this please vote in the comment  section of my blog or as a comment on FB on your favorite dream, and what you think it may mean.  I'm confused, amused and curious!

DREAM #1

Kidnapped by a bad boy who looked like a mix of Channing Tatum and Jax from SOA.  Not bad.  He put me in an old white utility van, he was wearing a wife beater shirt and I just kept telling him over and over...."I need to make a phone call so everyone knows I'm OK.  You don't understand I have a business and a family, I don't have time for this."  My kidnapper's response was " You are not taking care of yourself, nobody is taking care of you, quite worrying about it. I am taking you to a resort where you can rest."  Hm OK, Evil Kidnapper, that shut me up for about two seconds.
"UM, I have no clothing with me...I have nothing."  I said.  Hot dirty bad boy kidnapper says " I have it all taken care of , just quite worrying about everything!"
We get to the white sandy beached resort.  He sends me to the Cabana and says "Now go get into a bathing suit, you need to rest and some Vitamin D and I will have your book and a cocktail waiting for you, I will take care of everything you need."  My response..."I haven't shaved since I got this boot on 5 weeks ago, it's really bad..."  Kidnapper's response..." I don't care about that, you are beautiful just as you are, STOP WORRYING AND GET CHANGED!"  Me.. "OK but this isn't going to be pretty."  Oh it was bad, picture the Geico caveman on my legs and everywhere else, except jet black hair around 4 " long......I stepped out of the Cabana , the Kidnappers response..."ARGH!!!!!!"  I woke up.

DREAM #2

I got kidnapped by the Sons of Anarchy.  I was in a prison bus and we came to a police roadblock because they were looking for me.  Clay was in the front of the bus and looked at me and said "If they talk to you, your only response is to be 'Minty' , YOU GOT ME! 'MINTY', anything else will get you killed!"  I nodded my head.  He looked at Tig and said, "If she says or does anything that will cause a problem, handle it!" he gave Clay the biker nod. (That's one head bob for you civilians ;-*.
The officer came up to the van and was scared to come inside because of the SOA's so he handed Clay a megaphone and told him they knew there was a woman on the bus and they wanted me to talk to them.  He brought me the Megaphone and handed it to me with a 'you better obey or else look' and I started to talk into it.
"Minty...minty, minty.....Miiinnnty, minty , MINTY! minty, minty minty ..........................minty(very quietly) MINTY!" I repeated it in as many inflection's I could come up with and the police officer responded to them..."I don't what kind of drugs you are all on, but must be some good shit."  Then Clay gave him the megaphone and he left.  Tig looked at me as if I have just given birth to his first born child he was so proud of me...then he kissed me.......(yuk! I'm sure he's a nice guy, but why couldn't I have at least gotten that from Jax!)

Comment and chose Dream 1 or 2 and please, what the Hell do they mean???

I need a bumper to bumper warranty.....(TMI Blog)

UH OH... Time to go!

OK, I need a bumper to bumper warranty.  I am broken from head to toe as you all know.  First of all, I have never really had to take any prescription pain medication for more than a day or two, and although I should have remembered this because Jay has had four knee surgeries and when my Dad was dying of cancer, he was on some pretty good pain medication as well.

I forgot about the fact that it constipates you.  Yup no poo poo for you, long time. I went to Renown, and an orthopedic surgeon within two days of each other and also went to the pharmacy and not one person mentioned that I may need a little extra fiber.

10 days.......yes 10.  Then I went into labor.  I now know how Elvis died on the toilet.  I almost had to call 911. 45 minutes later I gave birth to a rabid badger that was fighting and clawing for it's life.  I almost died, shit you not (no pun intended ;-).

Now I have to have Metamucil or Activia every day because I am scared to death of going into labor again.

Next issue.  I pretty much over-dosed on Acetaminophen as you may know from reading my previous blog "You're Fired."  So besides the vomiting, I ended up with diarrhea for the last two weeks, "Dr. Peters" said it's most likely my body trying to rid itself of those toxins.  So my question to you is, what do I do?  I get constipated then go into labor, after I lose my plug it's like a fire hose full blast for oh at least 20 minutes or so, this really sucks for a multitasker such as myself.  Do I still need the fiber intake or not?  I definitely don't need a stool softener.  I also am not sure if I may just have some kind of flu, I am currently drinking Gatorade because I am aware of how dehydrated I am.  My Dr. made me give him a urine sample and it is brown because my liver is working so hard.....(TMI, I know but this is MY blog and you chose to read it despite the content warning!)
My Tebow, before and after...the  "event"

Oh God!.......
Oh and did I mention, I think I may have strep throat or I got a pill stuck sideways on both sides of my throat because despite the Vicodin, Prescription Ibuprofen Cloreseptic and Ceprecol, I can't yawn or even swallow water let alone a pill.  I had to smash them up and put them in water to get them down today because I had to be to work at 6 am.  I think it's time to trade myself in for a new model.......

A backhanded compliment?

I take Stevi and Daivee with me to Walmart to go Shopping because.....
A. I hate to go alone.
B. It's faster when I give them coupons and they are off on their scavenger hunt style shopping.
C. They distract me from looking at the other shoppers.

Is it a compliment when you get hit on in Walmart? How about if the man could be your father? How about if he says.."I hope you don't mind my saying , but you are in great shape." ?
Am I in great shape in general? Or compared to the other Walmart shoppers? Or is he saying that to me because he saw me with two teenage girls? Dirty old man or sweet guy giving a gal a compliment ? No make-up on today and wearing Stevi's hand-me-downs with a handful of coupons on a Saturday as I battle the other crazy shoppers brave enough to go to Walmart on a Saturday at noon. I'm still not sure but after the shock of the guy saying that to me in isle 7 then following me down isle 6 , 5 and again in the produce section.........I'll take it as a backhanded compliment. I thanked him but as I pushed my cart away from him looking for my next coupon item, I laughed as I told the girls and the responses I got from them were......Daivee...."Ooh Creepy" and Stevi......"Gross"........hmmmmmmmm...

All in a day of shopping at Walmart......Liz! What are you laughing at!? You're popular in South Tahoe!

Something I knew but was reminded of this week....

While reading Sundays paper I saw an ad for a Women's Networking dinner. I have often thought about going to a networking group, but this one caught my attention because it was for women business owners. I thought what the heck and signed up. It was $60 for the dinner , knowing that if I got one new client out of the dinner it would pay for my dinner. The day after I got a call from one of the gals that was sitting at my table, she needs a new hairdresser and needs cut and color. That will pay for my dinner twice. Is it worth it? I think so, not only was dinner delicious, but the women there were all wonderful, I was also introduced to the lady who owns Gesture, her name is Holly Evers, and not only have I bought gifts in her store but every time I have gone in there to even browse, she has been very nice. I will go back. Now I have a reason to go back to dinner next month, if I get one new client a month, it is worth the time and socializing. Not only that, they have a guest speaker every month. This month was a reminder to me that positive outlooks are contagious, if you are negative, whether it is because you are broke, sad, or just not having a good day, your clients will feel it and their experience with you will be negative as well. Part of retaining a happy clientele is to always be truly positive and upbeat, they will feel it and your day will go much smoother as well. We all have people in our lives that are negative, sometimes we need to distance ourselves from them if we can't remind them to be positive with us because it is a much better way to be and better for our health and energy. I know you all have felt the negativity of someone around you, it weighs you down, makes you feel heavy and lethargic. This week try to keep a positive outlook all week, look on the bright side, if there seems to be none, find one and be cognisant of how your day goes, even your week. Please post on my wall any experiences this brings you and how it changed your week. We could all use a LOT of positive energy right now, don't you think?

Weird how things have a way of working themselves out.....

My intentions were to help a friend in need.  Being a hairdresser, you develop very strong bonds with some clients, those clients usually become friends.  I have made a few in my career.  I wasn't sure if I should write this in a "Tales from the Chair Chapter" or not, but because it effected me on a personal level more than anything else, I decided to not.

I have another friend who I have become extremely attached to over the last couple of years, she is a wonderful, caring, loving, kind and generous lady.  Beautiful on the outside but even more so on the inside.  She lost her husband 3 1/2 years ago to a sudden, unexpected heart attack.  They were soul mates as well.  When my good friend's husband needed to talk, occasionally he would stop by.  I never knew what to say to make things easier for him.  Just seeing the pain on his face was enough to kill me.  He came by one day and we made a "talk" date.  That same afternoon, my other friend who had lost her husband came in and we began to talk.  I told her I didn't know what to say or how to help him......it's a hard thing to do. She offered her phone # and knew she could understand what he is going thru and could give him an ear and a shoulder.  So I told him about her and we decided to go for a motorcycle ride, since we all have Harley's.  We ended up out to dinner at the Outback and they bantered back and forth as if they had known each other their whole lives.

She hadn't been ready to meet anyone but was finally ready to put herself out there........they became fast friends and have been able to laugh, cry and talk to each other.  I never thought about why they both came in within minutes of each other until having more conversations with her, she was not sure if he should  be ready to open up, but they were developing feelings for each other, it took her 3 years for her to let her walls down, but with him, he had been preparing for years, this was his wife's second and final bout with cancer.  I know my friend, and she would have told him that life goes on and not to dwell.  All she would want is his happiness.......so finally after 3 months of their special friendship.......she let him hold her hand........they are taking it slow but God works in mysterious ways and I know my friend who has gone on to better things is smiling down on her husband........and my other friend's husband is smiling down on her.  When she came in today we had another heart felt talk, and I got chills and almost cried.....happily.
I never intended to "set them up"  it just worked itself out on it's own.  They have so much in common, it seems so right for things to have fallen into place the way they have.  I will pray for them both, they have both had that one love of a life time and like she told me.......The four of them can make this work.  Who knows what will happen, but for now, lots of support and laughter and smiling in a time that may have gone completely different.

I love you both and God is smiling down on you as well.........good luck.

My thoughts on our victory.....

I am a registered Republican.  I voted for a Democrat.  Not because of the color or his skin.   Because I felt he is the best man for the job.  Unfortunately, we still see prejudice in this country and I am sad to say that I have heard a few times that the only reason people are voting for him is because he is black. I am sure his whole life he has had to overcome many obstacles in his life because of ignorance and hate.  In my lifetime, I have seen racism, hate and ignorance and was fortunate to be raised in an educated household where we were never taught to judge anybody by the color of their skin.  I am so proud that we live in a country where you can definitely be all you can be.  If you set your mind to something and try hard enough you can achieve anything.  My uncle was black.  I learned from stories my mom told me about prejudice and how sickening the world can be.  My Aunt and Uncle fell in love in a time when it was taboo and stayed married until the day my Uncle passed away.   They chose to not have children because of the times,  so it is our loss that we never got to have more wonderful people in the world who were born out of pure and honest love.  I wish my Uncle were still alive to see this day.....it is a day many younger generations won't understand and how incredibly momentous this is.  Yes our 44th president happens to be black.  Back in the 60's when he was born, he was most likely unable to ride the same bus or attend the same schools as whites.  They had separate drinking fountains.  Couldn't go into restaurants to eat.  Had to walk on the outside or go around the back of buildings.  Were beaten and killed because of the color of their skin.  My Aunt got fired from her job when they found out she was married to a black man................and it was OK.  How sickening it is to me that this ever went on in the first place.  It is a proud moment that the majority of America saw a man.  A man who was running for President and could possibly make a difference.  I am saddened that his Grandmother passed away one day before he was elected.  I am sure she was so proud, and I bet when he was a small boy, she looked at him with love in her eyes, despite the way a lot of America looked at him back then and said....."Someday, you could be President of the United States......."  and he is.................

Memoirs of a crazy childhood....Chapter 5

I remember my mom looking out the window waiting for my father to come home, I was probably around 4 years old.  She would make dinner and wait.......sometimes I think she waited a long time.  There were times that I remember feeling sad because she was sad.  Not until I was an adult did she explain to me that my father had a gambling problem.  She never said a bad or mean thing about him, it was up to us to form our opinions of him.  I wish more people were this way. She would always tell me how talented he was as a musician, that he could walk down the street on his hands, he was an incredible author, and that he always made her laugh.  Now I see, she was the epitome of class.  He hurt her, he hurt me, he hurt us, and she never said a bad word, just that he had to leave.  I am sure she waited a very long time at times.  The days of him not coming home eventually ended.  I later learned that he hocked my moms jewelry and there was only one car, which he took also.  Nice, leave your wife and children, one of which had special needs, stranded in Reno Park without a vehicle.  I will tell you later about that day, as I remember it. What I do remember now at this time, was my mom smoking a cigarette waiting in the kitchen of our trailer watching out the window for him to come home.  Sometimes, you just have to walk away.

I miss my Dad.......

I miss my dad yelling at me at tax time,
telling me I have to keep my receipts in line.

I miss my dad telling me I look good for an old girl,
and watching him dance around in a jerky swirl.

I miss my dad blasting John Philip Souza,
and telling me jokes until I'm lost and confused uhhh!

I miss my dad bragging about us to every one he meets,
and telling all our stories, and repeats and repeats.

I miss my dad saying to me "You tell 'em cabbage you've got the head!"
And him not hearing everything I've said.

I miss my dad with the volume up on the TV,
and him hanging out with Jayson and Stevi.

I miss my dad coming over just to fall asleep,
and answering the remote control when he hears a beep.

I miss my dad telling me he's just so proud,
and I miss always having to talk  so loud.

I miss my dad... I just do,
I miss him so much more than I knew.......

Nature is.....

Nature is kind
Nature is mean
Nature is confused
and everything in between.

Nature is dry
Nature is wet
Nature is windy
does things you can't forget.

Nature hurts
Nature feels great
Nature will get you
at a further date.

Nature nourishes
Nature destroys
Nature covers up
what life deploys.

Nature makes you laugh
Nature makes you cry
Nature can change
in the blink of an eye.

Ahh Nature..........

Memoirs of a crazy childhood....Chapter 2

I must have been 4ish when my mother and father sold that little trailer on Gentry Way and purchased the lot out in Reno Park (which is now called Cold Springs) .  It was at the end of the valley on the Bordertown side of Reno Park and it had a huge ditch to the right of the driveway.  I remember my mother and father bringing me and Stevie there to see where our brand new trailer would be.  My mom wouldn't let us out of her sight because there were ditches and holes everywhere, they must have been putting in the plumbing and the septic tank.  I am going to guess that is was some time in the very early 70's and I know that back then the trailers didn't have to be tied down like they do now.  I do remember that some or all of it had cinder blocks underneath it, and the steps to go inside were made of wood and were stained red.  I am sure at the time, my mother and father were never happier, they had their little girl, little boy, a dog names Lucky and a brand new piece of land with a new trailer on it.  I don't remember the address.......but I know that is where I learned to ride a 2 wheeler, I actually rode that bike right into the huge ditch to the right of the driveway.  It had rocks and sticker bushes in it with a drain pipe that went under the road. At the age of 4 it seemed like the Grand Canyon and I was going to die, but I survived and must not have been too traumatized since I ride a Harley now.......the ditch was probably a gully.  I had a lot of fun times there, ahhh to be a child again.

Memoirs of a crazy childhood....Chapter 1

Sometimes you are not sure if it's a memory or a story someone told you that makes it a memory, but I am going to start this segment of my blog with my earliest childhood memory......I think we lived somewhere downtown or near downtown in Reno in a trailer park, I am sure it was a single wide trailer and my father drove a cab for a living? Or maybe that was a dream, either way it's my story so I will tell it how I remember it.  He drove a cab and my mother must have stayed home with me, she always seemed to be there.  I must have been very young, 3 or 4?  But I remember lots of snow and playing outside in the snow.  I'm sure it was mommy who taught me to make snow angels because that is what mommies do.  I think we had a station wagon but I could be wrong, and I am sure my mom had a friend in the trailer park, but I don't remember her name.  I think in those days we didn't have much, but times where good.  I think we even got snowed in a couple of times.  Well it's not much, but that is my earliest memory.....or story I remember.  Stevie (my brother) wasn't born yet, it was just me, so maybe I was younger, can a person remember that far back? Hmmmmmmm

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.............

For those of you who go to or have gone to church you will understand what I mean when I tell you that when you sit and listen to the sermon they always seem to be talking to YOU and only YOU. Well, we went to church this morning, and did bible study the whole bit then went to worship and when the Preacher started the sermon with. "You all need to live like you were dying" my daughter Stevi and I just looked at eachother, (she sat here with me last night as I started my first Blog). Then he proceeded to tell us how important it is to take the time our of our busy schedules to cherish each day with our family because we never know when it will be our last. Now, is it just me, or did we just go over this? Ok, I have been asking for a sign from God to help me renew my faith and follow a path that I had stumbled off of for quite some time. Hmmmmmm. Not sure how to react to this but the chills I got down my spine and my Daughter hitting my leg and whispering "Mommy, you said that, and that and that" I know we all have our own Gods, some Buddha, some on a different spiritual plane, so you tell me, what would you think?
