My daughters heart makes her who she is, not her looks....

My Sweet Angel
I hear it all the time.  Your daughter is so beautiful.  I know she is.  I also know that she is smart , extremely athletic , goal driven, kind, giving, helpful, forgiving, talented, considerate, thoughtful, open minded and a hopeless romantic and believe it or not, extremely shy.  She is loyal to no end and will defend her friends no matter what wrongs they have done to her.  She wants to be an orthopedic surgeon. She is in honors classes and gets great grades.
Sometimes enemies can become your best friends in life.

Wow she has it all you may say.......What she doesn't have right now is a boyfriend.  This age is tough and looking the way she does makes it harder.  Boys only see her for her outer shell.  They think of one thing.  She often asks me why they can't have feelings for her without wanting just the physical part of her, why don't they want her as a girlfriend , why don't they have  feelings for her for who she really is?  She has been hurt many times by girls who hate her and have never even met her or tried to get to know her.   By teachers who think she's nothing but trouble because of how outgoing she is, apparently that makes her a slut.  She has thought the boy she is falling for her feels the same way only to find out if she won't put out she needs to get out.
Just a girl with a huge heart.
People always judge us first by how we look. Fat, skinny, black , white, Mexican,  crack-head, old , young, slut, hot , gross, loser, gorgeous, stuck-up, tall , short , weird, gay ....I could go on forever.
Her 3 best friends...amazing girls, love them all!
Don't we all just want to be loved?  And be loved for what we have to offer on the inside and how we treat people.  Imagine if we all looked the same , or were blind ?  Wouldn't that be awesome? Then and only then would we find our one true love for the right reason.
I ask you......Why can't life be that simple?
I have always taught her to love the inside first, the outside will always grow on you, who knew that most people love just the opposite?  So sad, looks go away and fade with age, but who you are and how you treat people, now that is how you are remembered......

Don't be afraid to love life with your friends.

Life is that simple! She's just at that age when it's not. Most teenagers are superficial. It's just the nature of the beast. I know she wants a boyfriend in the worst way, but there's so much for her to do and enjoy without the constraints of having a boyfriend at this age. I hope she lives it up now and just focuses on having a great time. Whatever will be, will be. I bet there are plenty of boys that see her for who she truly is, but is it possible she isn't interested in them because of their outward appearances?

Nope, some of the boys she has fallen for the hardest are .... well, not what you would think, Actually, a couple of boys who are trying to get her attention really hard right now are older, popular and very cute, and she isn't really interested. Her heart is loyal to the end, think she must get that from me. It can be good and bad, wonderful and painful. As you know, we can't always control who we fall in love with.....

I don't even want to think about the struggles and challenges we will face when Delaney is a teenager! Even though it seems so far in the future, I know it will be here before we know it! Gary always says that there was a time he thought he would have a shot gun at the door when she starts dating, but now he says he will be pushing her out the door and telling her date good luck because she is soooo feisty! I can only hope she will be able to hold her own, but I know feelings are easily hurt and I will not be able to protect her from them! In the end, I hope Stevi, and my Delaney, have more wonderful high school memories than bad!

i think that because stevi has her head in the right place (thanks mom, dad, and big bro), she will find the purest love and will excell in life. it is supposed to be hard as a teen, and because she is sostrong, she will come out on top, and it will all be worth it. She will be the one that all of us will look at and say, "wow! what a lucky girl!! she has it all... and deserves every single moment of it!!" <3 my forever-6-years-old-walking-up-to-my-house-kindergartner, stephani....
